Everybody have bad days sometimes, and it's okay. I would even say that it is a good thing in the end because without the bad days, we wouldn't appreciate the good ones. However, no need to make those bad days worse than they have to be. There are the four things that I like doing when I'm having a bad day, to feel better.

Everybody has a bad day once in a while, and it’s okay. I would even say that it is a good thing in the end because without the bad days, we wouldn’t appreciate the good ones. However, no need to make those bad days worse than they have to be. Here are the four things that I like doing when I’m having a bad day, to feel better.

1. Don’t stay alone.

Being around the people you love and who make you feel good really helps. It could be your hubby, your mom, your best friend, some who is able to make you smile. If you live far from your friends and family, call them. My best friend is always there for me even though she lives far away from me, and I know that I can call her anytime. Most of the time I don’t even talk about why I’m having a bad day, just hearing her voice and talking to her about anything makes me feel better. This is the kind of people that you need to talk to when you’re feeling down. Surrounding yourself with the people who make you feel good is SO important (and not just when you’re having a bad day, actually).

2. Make time for yourself.

Take a bubble bath, apply a mask on your face, polish your nails, … Whatever makes you feel good. Making time for yourself is honestly a must. Now I know that making time to pamper yourself can be a luxury when you have children to take care of, a time-consuming job, or both at the same time. But it really is necessary; sometimes you need to chill and think of nothing but which bath bomb are you going to use in your bath. You’re only human and you can’t do more that what a human can do -the end.

3. Don’t stay were you don’t feel good.

Take a walk if you can. Go somewhere pretty and take a walk.. I personally walk everyday -with my headphones on-, but it’s especially important for me to do it in the bad days; even if it’s just for 20 minutes. It clears my mind from everything that bothers me and I’m always in a better mood after my walk.

4. Do something you like.

The best way to forget about what makes you feel bad is to focus on something else ! I know, it’s easier to say than to do. But it actually works. It could be reading, doing something creative, gardening, … For me it’s blogging; whenever I don’t feel good I go to my favorite coffee shop downtown and I start writing a new post (or I finish and old one). This is my favorite thing in the world, just sitting somewhere nice with my laptop and a hot drink. Sometimes it doesn’t take anything more than that to feel better !

Save this pin for later ! ♥︎

  1. These are great suggestions! I find that music really helps me. Just hearing something upbeat or a song that reminds me of a happy memory helps. Also just texting friends helps!

    1. Yea I used to do that too. It’s not easy to get out of your home and see people when you’re not feeling good, but it definitely helps ! x

  2. Definitely getting absorbed in blogging – catching up and reading other people’s blog posts as well as writing my own. I find the time flies by and I learn lots of new things at the same time – yes blogging and a chat with an old friend definitely help. x

  3. I learned a long time ago that not everything needs doing today, therefore I always have project to work on, keeping busy distracts the mind form the bad day. I just became a Grandfather, I went to Home Depot, got some wood to start a new project, a Christmas tree surround to keep my new Grandson from pulling the tree down; besides the woodwork and artwork, I should be away from a bad day for a while. Bad days are over rated.
A friend once asked: Do you know why God made hills? No, I replied! My friend said: Because it’s hard on your knees to walk down hill all the time!
Appreciate the good always, bad days are a dime a dozen these day’s, but the good days will only get over shadowed; if we forget to appreciate and honor the good.
